More human than human

I've written an article on Osaka University professor Hiroshi Ishiguro's androids that has been published in Scientific American. Ishiguro's stunningly lifelike android Repliee, seen here with NHK TV's Ayako Fujii on whom it was based, astounded visitors to Japan's 2005 Aichi Expo, where it was demonstrated. Ishiguro is reportedly working on a new android, a copy of himself.

Hi there -
During one of my searches for more info on Actroid, I stumbled across your site. I can't remember where I first saw your name, but it was in conjunction with your upcoming book - it seems like it'll be rather ace, and I'm looking forward to it..

As I have a fascination with Gynoids and Synthetiks in general, I've linked you to my blog. Hope you don't mind. :-)

Thanks for your comment davecat. The people behind Repliee and Actroid have produced some stunning gynoids by offloading the sensing and processing hardware into the robot's surrounding environment. Having had direct encounters with both these synthetic ladies, I can tell you the experience is sometimes chilling!
